Project Brief
Paul & Lorraine wanted to update their property with a full wrap-around transformation with a new rear garden and a new driveway to the front.
The garden needed to be dog-friendly and flexible for entertaining friends and family, as well as times to relax and enjoy the sun-baked space of their uniquely shaped space.
Approach & Solution
The couple had some ideas of what they wanted and how to zone the space, but we spent a lot of time and effort designing the space in great detail, particularly to help shape their vision with regard to the curves within the garden.

The unique shape and size of the garden allowed us to zone specific areas that made the best use of the sunshine, and create different spots for Paul and Lorraine to use.
Impact
Paul and Lorraine now have a beautiful garden that makes the best use of the space and will only get better as the soft landscaping takes shape. We look forward to seeing how it develops over time.

They also have a driveway, which is generous in space and makes access so easy, no matter who is home and coming to visit.

“Wilson’s had a very ‘can do’ attitude and we were able to discuss a few different options with them to adjust their quote to be within our budget.

The detailed garden design evolved throughout the process. The garden was finished late 2022, and by the long, hot spring, it was our oasis of relaxation.
​
It extends the house straight out into the garden and most days we would just take our meal from the kitchen straight out to the seating area on the patio, just as we had hoped.
​
The new raised borders have been stocked with plants and are proving much easier to maintain than we hoped.
​
The long, curved retaining walls and wide steps up to the existing lawn have been a real talking point for everyone who has seen them, they really pull together the irregular garden shape and provide long, flowing lines that guide the eyes to the different parts of the garden.

I can now park up to three cars on the drive if I want, but the lawn looks bigger and neater at the same time.

Wilson’s had a great team who worked really hard and with great attention to detail to help us bring our ideas to life.
